Cancer Research UK are spreading the Payroll Giving messageWe are delighted the team at Cancer Research UK will be spreading the Payroll Giving message this week at the CIPP Conference in Birmingham
The Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals Annual Conference and Exhibition 2018 will be taking place on 10th-11th October at the prestigious Hilton Birmingham Metropole and will bring together over 300 professionals from the payroll sector to discuss the latest changes to payroll and pensions legislation as well as hearing from industry experts.
The team from Cancer Research UK will be talking through the advantages of operating and successfully promoting Payroll Giving to employees, discussing the benefits to them and other charities and thanking those attendees who are already engaged in the scheme. You can also find out more about the Geared for Giving Campaign as there will be brochures on the stand.
Payroll Giving is important to Cancer Research UK as it allows them to plan ahead; it allows them to invest in research projects which may take many years to fulfil. Cancer Research UK have a bold ambition, which is to get to 3 in 4 people surviving their diagnosis of cancer by 2034 and that means they undertake some huge research projects. If they can depend upon regular giving such as Payroll Giving, they can plan for the future and this allows them to make breakthroughs, which just don’t happen overnight.
Peter O’Hara, CEO of the Geared for Giving Campaign comments “Payroll Giving offers a massive opportunity at the moment for all charities. There are still over 6,000 employers with 250 plus employees who don’t offer Payroll Giving and having the support of the Cancer Research UK team in spreading the message to more employers is hugely important”
