BT leading by example on City Giving Day 2018Today is City Giving Day (Tuesday 25th September) where over 200 City of London firms will be uniting to celebrate and showcase their charitable and volunteering efforts with employees, clients, suppliers and the public.
Whether you’re a small business or a large corporation, City Giving Day provides you with a chance to engage with your employees, recruit volunteers, to have fun, raise money and showcase your charity partners/ charitable giving. In fact, it can be anything you want it to be. It’s also a great opportunity to promote Payroll Giving to your employees!
86% of companies who took part last year think it has helped inspire more colleagues to fundraise, volunteer and become more involved in charitable activity
Our Founding Partner. BT, will be heavily involved today. Not only will they have a team taking part in the ‘Tour De City’, in Paternoster Square but they will be heavily promoting Payroll Giving to their employees in BT Centre too.
BT already runs one of the UK’s largest and most successful Payroll Giving schemes having run since 1987, when Payroll Giving was introduced.
Currently more than 13% of BT employees are giving over £2.5 million every year, while BT covers all administration costs and each year boosts employee donations with a £1million pound matching fund.
Tania Young, Head of Charity Programmes & Policies comments “We’re so pleased to show our support for City Giving day. We’re taking the opportunity to share with our people how they can give to charities they care about through Payroll Giving. The BT scheme is amazing, its easy for our people to join and charities love it too!”
